Agency Trainer / Job Coach — Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (I/DD)

From $24.00 - $26.50  an hour

Northwest Mental Health Management Services (NWMH) is seeking a passionate and organized Agency Trainer / Job Coach to join our leadership team. This vital position focuses on developing and delivering professional training programs that empower our caregiving staff to provide high-quality support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

As a key member of our executive team, you will help shape the skills, compassion, and confidence of new and current employees—ensuring our clients receive the best care possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee employee training programs for caregivers and support staff.

  • Conduct site visits and remedial instruction sessions to reinforce best practices.

  • Provide hands-on coaching to help staff apply skills in real-world caregiving settings.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date reports and training documentation.

  • Foster a culture of learning, inclusion, and professional growth within the agency.

  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure all training aligns with agency and state guidelines.
     

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated professional who can inspire others and lead by example. The ideal candidate will:

  • Work independently and stay organized in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrate adaptability and a passion for teaching.

  • Encourage lifelong learning among staff.

  • Have prior exposure or experience in the I/DD or healthcare field.
     

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) in Human Services or related field, or

  • One year of experience in a residential or caregiving setting supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply state and agency policies and regulations.

Certifications & Requirements

  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

  • Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and OIS Instructor certifications (training support available).

  • Must pass a State of Oregon criminal background check and maintain an acceptable driving record.

  • Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding client and staff records.
     

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting at $24.00 - $26.50 /hour (DOE)

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday

  • 8-hour day shifts

  • Some travel required (up to 25%)
