NWMH Rocks! A Day of Creativity, Community, and Googly-Eyed Joy

At Northwest Mental Health Management Services, we believe that joy, creativity, and inclusion are at the heart of quality care.
That belief came to life—literally—during our recent “NWMH Rocks!” event at the Gladstone Community Center!
Staff and clients came together to transform ordinary rocks into extraordinary little characters—complete with googly eyes, flowers, and even unicorn horns. Each painted rock was a whimsical expression of creativity and connection, proving once again that when we work together, magic happens.
This wasn’t just about art—it was about building relationships, having fun, and showcasing the joyful side of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). With beverages in hand and plenty of laughs shared, this craft class reminded us all why working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is so meaningful—and fun!
We’re proud to share snapshots of the artwork created during the event (check them out below!). Each rock tells a story of inclusion, support, and the kind of fulfillment you can’t find just anywhere.
